As part of his journey to Africa from 21 until 26 August 2011, Parliamentary State Secretary Peter Bleser visited South Africa and Ethiopia. His visit underscores the particular interest of the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (BMELV) in Africa.

In the bilateral talks held during the first German-Chinese intergovernmental consultations (in Berlin on 27 - 28 June 2011), Dr. Gerd Müller, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Agriculture, and Mr. Changfu Han, Chinese Minister of Agriculture, reaffirmed the long-standing close cooperation between both Ministries of Agriculture.

In her welcoming address to the regional panel of the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations during the International Green Week in Berlin on 21 January, Federal Minister of Agriculture Ilse Aigner underlined the increasing importance of the agricultural production of Russia, the Ukraine and Kazakhstan on the world market.

On 14 September 2010, Federal Agriculture Minister Ilse Aigner and her French counterpart, Minister Bruno Le Maire, signed a joint Position Paper of the Governments of Germany and France on the Future Development of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) after 2013.

Federal Minister Ilse Aigner visited India in mid-November 2010, accompanied by a German industry delegation. The main items on the itinerary were political talks and a business forum in Delhi.
